Country living designs give living rooms a nice rustic down-to-earth feel when people spend time in this living space. In addition to soft comfortable couches and cozy chairs people also add nice country accents such as wreaths framed cross-stitched pictures and beautiful quilts to bring out the country look in the room. Big soft couches and chairs oblong-shaped coffee tables with soft colored walls make the room feel welcoming and comfortable.
Which is not to say that all you need to do is to choose a bright color and you are well on your way. Picking a color palette for your living room design can go a lot deeper than that. You could easily pick a darker or more vibrant shade than most people recommend; you could get away with it if you don't switch colors from one wall to another. A room with the same color all over will easily look larger than one with colors that change from wall to wall. Furniture placement can have a lot to do with how spacious your living room design appears too.
The next time you open your door to guests looking in you don't want them walking in into a dull-looking living room now do you? You do wish you could have them be greeted him in grand style with a living room that really jumps out there with its brightness spaciousness and magnetism. It can't be easy though to do any of that with a living room space to work with that is nothing if not small. If the space you have to work with is rather small your time has come. Designers have had handkerchief-sized urban apartments to deal with for long enough now that the market is ripe with lots of great living room design ideas just for you.
Asian styles can include a variety of colors and textures. For Japanese go for a calm meditative look. Soft blue gray brown or green will complement subtly used hints of brighter colors and flowers were artwork. Chinese style can be achieved using bold colors such as red or gold to accent dark woods. Whatever style you choose pick only one see it through and don't go overboard. If the room is not comfortable it is not livable. Keep your thoughts clear for what the room will be used for. Factor in where the light and space in the room is coming from. Choose one or two choice elements you love rather than cluttering the room with every piece you like.
Open spaces do attract clutter. The more space we have the more we try and fill it often with things that could easily be tidied away if only some storage had been planned for them. Built-in cupboards are a solution here but if your room does not suit this style then think carefully about some other options. Solid oak sideboards or oak cupboards work very well. A natural wood finish helps to keep the living space look open and spacious and their solid construction will resist many knocks. Solid oak and indeed solid pine can be easily looked after - minor scratches and marks are easily sanded away and a light application of oil or wax will bring out the natural warmth and give the furniture a really mellow appeal. Cupboard space like this will give you plenty of room to tidy away toys DVDs and books.
